Page 332: "On the east side of CKGB's residence was a house which he built for Albert Billings Ruddock, a relative, who had been in the diplomatic corp before going into banking and subsequently serving on educational boards of directors (including Cal Tech). Later this was the home of Frederick P. Bills who made a fortune as a Ford dealer in Shanghai and as the owner of the Shanghai Realty Co."

Tom Hart, manager of the Montecito Country Club, also lived in the house for many years.
